San Clemente Crazy: Hoaxing the Homeless

In the months leading up to an eviction of homeless persons encamped at San Clemente’s North Beach Metrolink Station, nearby residents have filed numerous complaints about the odd and sometimes illegal activities that involve homeless persons living there. Homeless Perspective investigators first began looking into some of the incidents that residents were reporting in late March of 2019 and interviews with homeless persons there suggested that residents routinely harassed the homeless there,.

Center City Concern: An Interview
With a Client

In July of 2019 Homeless Perspective traveled to Portland, Oregon to speak with people living on the streets there to find out what kind of care is available for the homeless there. My hopes were to discover some kind of best practice and possible study the program and see if it could be replicated in Southern California. Central City Concern (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency serving single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. Founded in 1979, the agency has developed affordable housing options integrated with services including healthcare, recovery and employment.

Spitzer 4 OCDA (a Parody)

Supervisor Spitzer has run his campaign for Orange County District Attorney based on a platform of humiliating persons experiencing homelessness. I think that anyone that has any sense of what he has been doing and what he has been saying will agree that he has unfairly trashed defenseless homeless people in order to further his own political aspirations. “That’s really, really shameful.”

Homeless Faces and Places

The Homeless Perspective film crew visits with friend and homeless advocate/photographer David Freeman at an exhibit of his artwork at a Long Beach, CA art gallery. Known for his incredible knack for capturing an entire story in one snapshot, David, shows some of his favorite photos and shares the stories behind them in this video. David Freeman’s work takes him on regular trips to homeless encampments in Long Beach, Orange County, L.A.’s Skid Row, Maui HI, Chicago IL and most recently Northern California’s Redding and Paradise after wildfires caused hundreds to become homeless there.
